What the badge does (and what it does not)
The badge links to your own tool review page (/tool/your-slug/). Placing it earns you that free, independent review page. It does not add you to any “best of” listicle, and it never changes your ToolChase score or ranking.
Being included in a listicle is a separate, editorial-or-advertising matter, handled two ways:
- Featured placement (paid): a clearly labelled sponsored slot at the top of a relevant listicle. It sits outside the editorial ranking and uses
rel="sponsored". See Advertise. - Natural editorial fit: if your tool genuinely meets a roundup's criteria, our editors may add it on merit. No position and no rating are guaranteed, and we do not take requests to be added.
Any paid or affiliate link carries rel="sponsored". Please do not email asking to be placed in an existing listicle; that is decided editorially or through advertising only.

Is this really free? What's the catch?
No catch. You place a small badge on your site that links back to your ToolChase review page. We get a backlink, you get a full listing with SEO-optimized content. Everyone wins. There are no paid tiers for listings; every tool gets the same treatment.
Does badge placement affect my score?
No. ToolChase scores are based on our transparent methodology: features, pricing, usability, and value. Placing or removing the badge has zero impact on your score. We keep editorial and partnerships completely separate.
Where should I place the badge?

Is this different from advertising on ToolChase?
Yes. The badge program is completely free, so you get a standard listing in exchange for badge placement. Advertising is an optional paid service for tools that want premium placement like featured spots on category pages or newsletter sponsorships. You never need to pay to be listed.
